Lucille A. Zei, 103, a resident of Canal View-Houghton County passed away on Thursday December 17, 2020.
She was born on August 3, 1917 in Laurium to Edward and Rose (Boudreau) LeVeque. She attended the local schools and graduated from Sacred Heart High School with the Class of 1935. Following high school, Lucille worked at Newberry’s, Calumet Electronics, and retired from Calumet Public Hospital working in food service.
On January 20, 1944 she was united in marriage to John R. Hendra at St. Ann’s Church in Calumet. He preceded her in death in 1970. In 1986 she married Armando Zei. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Rose LeVeque, her 2 sisters, Marie and Rose, her brothers, Clarence and Clayton “Joe”, and her son, Bob Hendra.
She is survived by:
Her son: John (Cheryl) Hendra of Calumet
Her grandchildren: Chris (Tina) Hendra of Dollar Bay
Lori (Dan) DeBeaubien of Laurium
Her great grandchildren: Hannah (Joseph) Curtis, Liam and Brody DeBeaubien
Sister-in-law: Maudie LeVeque of Florida
Numerous loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Janners and the entire staff of Canal View for the tender loving care of Lucille.
Per Lucille’s request, a graveside service will be held in the Spring of 2021 in the Lake View Cemetery.

Our sympathy and prayers to the family of Lucille, I never met a more friendly, kinder, gentler person than this beautiful lady, the lord sure did gain an angel RIP Lucille. Like a real good friend just told me, She is not gone, she just changed her address. Chris & Nancy
