Bertha Makolin has left us. After 91 years of being blessed with her presence we are obligated to carry on her kindness and love.

She was born on August 8, 1929 in Belfield, North Dakota to George and Elizabeth (Miller) Armbrust.

Who can forget her world famous cinnamon rolls and pasties. Her ability to create beautiful images with her love of flowers. So many enjoyed looking at her flowers as we drove past her loved home.

Her hands and mind were never idle, creating beautiful embroidered items, that she unselfishly gave away to whomever desired them.

We can only imagine that she is now caring for her beloved grandson Shane and great granddaughter Isabella. Her love for children was unmeasurable.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Ann Marie, Markus, Frank, and Mag.

I worked with Bertha at my first job - night shift at Dube's Our Lady of Mercy. She was one of the hardest working people that I know.
